All about me...

Marianne was born in Hong Kong to a Chinese mother and a Danish father. At 4 months old, she went on to Denmark where she was raised and at age 19 she left for London where she spent 5 years, getting a bachelor's degree in business and doing acting - her first foray into the film industry. In 2003 she arrived in LA, initially attending the Lee Strasberg Institute. It was by chance she discovered directing and soon there was no turning back. She plunged herself full-time into directing - doing both theatre and film - as well as writing, editing and producing, making her a fully self-sustained filmmaker. "Between the Sunset and the Sea" is her last short, following the success of her previous film “Alice Rose”. She is currently working on her first feature, a psychological thriller called "Lapse". Principal photography took place September-October 2007 and estimated completion date is March 2010. Marianne has returned to her home country of Denmark to finish the film and pursue future projects, the first one called "Elvira + Sixten", based on the true life story of circus princess Elvira Madigan who died for love in 1889.
